At approximately 4:37 am on March 24, 2018, the Secaucus Police responded to the Coast Guard Auxiliary, located on Meadowlands Parkway on a report of a burglary into their building. According to representatives of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the burglar entered the building through a window. The only thing taken from the building was some liquor. It should be noted the Coast Guard Auxiliary does not possess weapons, therefore no weapons or munitions are stored in their building. Christopher W. Collins

Detectives responded to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and processed the scene, where evidence was collected. Based on collaborative informative shared between the Secaucus Police Department Patrol and Detective Divisions and the evidence collected at the scene it became known that Christopher W. Collins, 28, of Secaucus had committed the burglary.

On April 4, 2018, members the Secaucus Police Department arrested Christopher W. Collins at his residence without incident. At the time of his arrest, Collins was found in possession of a quantity of suspected heroin and marijuana. Evidence from the burglary was recovered at the time of his arrest.

Christopher W. Collins is charged with Burglary [2C:18-2a(1)], Theft of Moveable Property [2C:20-3a], and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance [2C:35-10a(1) & 2C:35-10a(4)]. Collins was taken to the Hudson County Jail pending his appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.
