A 76-year-old Secaucus man was charged after he struck a family member with a metal pipe, authorities said.

Police Officer Paul Miller responded to Plaza Center at 5 p.m. on April 22 on a report of a fight, Secaucus police Capt. Dennis Miller said, noting the incident was described as part of an ongoing family dispute.

Pantaleo Rossano, 76, was cited for simple assault with weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, the captain said. He was issued a summons and released.

The victim is a 47-year-old family member, Miller said. The victim told police he had pain in his arm and shoulder, Miller said.
