The Secaucus Police Department now has the ability to use Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drone) to assist in police operations and general public safety missions. Police Officer Michael Bronowich has been named “Chief Pilot” of the Unmanned Aerial Systems program, which will be overseen by the Traffic Bureau Commander. The policy will allow for the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems for legitimate law enforcement purposes including, but not limited to search and rescue, situational awareness, hostage or barricaded subject incidents, hazardous material incidents that require a stand-off distance, et. al.
