Patrol Division & Field Training

The Secaucus Police Department Patrol Division is the largest and most visible Division of the Secaucus Police Department. The Patrol Division are the first to respond to police, fire, and medical emergencies and non-emergencies within the 6.6 square mile Town twenty-four (24) hours a day seven (7) days a week. Specially trained members of the Patrol Division utilize bicycles and a Segway to patrol special events and provide a more mobile and visible police presence.

After their initial hiring, Secaucus Police Officers are under the tutelage of the Field Training Coordinator. The Field Training Coordinator is responsible for the administration, management, and supervision of the Field Training & Evaluation Program. The Secaucus Police Department’s Field Training & Evaluation Program is administered in five phases:

Phase I: Pre-Academy Phase
Phase II: Field Training Officer Assignment / Instructional Phase
Phase III: Transition Phase
Phase IV: Observation Phase
Phase V: Graduation from the Field Training & Evaluation Program/Training Extension/Termination.
